In summer it´s warm, sometimes even hot! Then even your bottles and glasses start to "sweat". Because we don´t want that water on our table, i´ll show you how to make your own and cheap coasters out of wool felt. You can choose a sewing and a sticking version. That´s what you need:
- Stoffschere
- Scissors
- Wool felt, which is a little bit thicker
- Wool felt, which is a little bit thinner in different colors
- Yarn & needle and pins when you want to do the sewing version
- textile adhesive
- Ruler or measuring tape
So
I am giving you the advice to make a pattern out of a paperboard and then you can use it to make your wool felt coasters. Mine have the measurement of 10 x 10cm. I cutted my pattern in the half and used it as a pattern for the thinner wool felt pieces. So you can do the cutting as you can see below:

Sticking variant: Think about the look and give carefully a thin layer of textile adhesive on the thin wool felt pieces. You should use textile adhesive which doesn´t dries colored and you don´t want it on the good site of your coaster.
fest.
Sewing variant: When you´re ready with cutting, you can think about how you want your coasters to be and pin it.
Take your yarn on the needle and make a knot at the end. The yarn should be long,(3 x length of your underarm) and than you stich into the upper layer from below as you can see below. The knot is hiding under the blue wool felt know. Then you can stich around the piece to secure it.
You shouldn´t pull to hard, that makes your seam look better. Avoid too tiny stiches.

Fertig kann es dann so ausschauen:
